Philadelphia Flyers Internship
As the capstone of my Sport Management degree, I participated in a full time internship with the Philadelphia Flyers as one of their Customer Service Interns. This experience allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the Sport and Entertainment Industry as a whole, while gaining knowledge that will help me in the future. As a Customer Service Intern I assisted in the daily activities of the customer service department. These activities included contacting season ticket holders to confirm their scheduled in game benefits, tracking the season ticket holder gifts received, and orchestrating mass mailings.
On game days, I helped with setting up and running the Customer Service table, and overseeing the in game benefits available for season ticket holders. I worked closely with the Box Office daily, by helping them with entering and fixing information into the ticketing system for playoffs and next season.
Finally, as part of my required curriculum I was required to take on a semester long special project. My project was based around finding was to increase recognition for Jr. Flyers members without impacting the already small budget. For this project I created a website for the Jr. Flyers that is designed for kids within their target demographic. I also created various forms and flyers that could be used to increase membership of season ticket holder children, by advertising that it is one of their benefits.
Below I have a copy of the final product that I created for York College of Pennsylvania of my special project. This paper not only includes what I presented to the Philadelphia Flyers but also how I went about creating my ideas.
